26.02.16
This week we welcomed Mrs Razmi Devi into our classroom. We are very lucky to have Mrs Devi with us, as she identifies culturally with many of our families. Mrs Devi is on her last practicum experience before she graduates as a fully qualified New Zealand teacher. She is very impressed with the children in R14, and is gaining valuable experience from us, and from Target Road School in general. As of next week, Mrs Devi will be in full control - or in the driving seat so to speak!
Thank you to those parents who have emailed this week with questions or concerns. I appreciate this contact as it strengthens the home/school bond.
Lenny has chosen to stay at school this weekend - I think all the after school activities have worn him out! Lets hope he doesn't get into any mischief while we're not there...

Week three
Week three
Our decorated feet - we were so proud to see our feet made it into the newsletter!
Today (19.02.16) we practiced saying our Mihi - who we are, and who our mum and dad are in te reo. This is all a part of gaining a deeper understanding of who we are; to be able to discuss our immediate family in at least two languages is precious :)
Week 2
Well well well...the first two weeks have flown by! The children wrote down what they have been up to during these past two weeks, and swimming got the top mention! Other ideas were art, poetry, sharing our poems at assembly, changing the Mr Gumpy story to Mr Poopy (they think this is HILARIOUS!), participating in the treasure hunt at the Meet the Teacher evening, filling out the birthday calendar, and starting Jump Jam again.
Keep your eye on the blog, as the children will be contributing very soon!
