Christmas Greetings!
We are nearing the end of the year with only a few days of term left!
Athletics Day
Athletics Day was a huge success and a load of fun for all involved, although we were pretty tired by the end of the day!
Construction
We quite like to play with construction toys and use our imaginations to build some amazing structures. Here are two from this term that the students in Room 14 were particularly proud of.
Writing Similes
You may have seen in a recent newsletter that we have been learning about similes in Room 14. We spent some time walking through our school environment and used the words "like" and "as" to describe it.
Birds have wings like flower petals - Ruby Hawkes
A bee is as yellow as a star - Eshaan Naidu
A pen is like a crayon - James Smith
Water is as clear as glass - Carter Baxendale
Miss Harris is as tall as a tree - Hannah Robinson
A banana is as squishy as playdough - Fiona O'Brien
The leaves is as green as the grass. - Elizabeth Moonsamy
A Dinosaur is as strong as Hulk. - Gabriel Sanchez
A Dinosaur is taller than a home. - Evan Valecruz
The tree looks like a fat snake - Jaedah Grace-Mati

We sat in a circle to share our writing with the rest of the class.
Mrs Marsh
Look who Miss Harris ran into at the Kids for Kids choir concert!
She misses all the students at Target Road School HEAPS and is always asking about you.
Native New Zealand Bees!
We have learned a lot about Native New Zealand Bees this term. We even spent some time sequencing their life cycles. Here are Eshaan and Cynthia proudly showing off their hard work.
Daily Maths
Daily Maths is a part of the day that most students in Room 14 love to bits and they are always so eager to be chosen to "be the teacher". This means they will ask the questions and write the answers to the questions.
Kendall and Hayul (also known as Miss Inglis and Mr Kim) have done a great job as Daily Maths teachers this term.
The Play
The Murray Ball reading group worked extremely hard back in Week 6 to put on a play for us. They were all amazing at following along the lines, and adding expression to their voices to make the play more interesting for their audience.
Tilly and Mrs Jones
We are so incredibly lucky to have Mrs Jones teaching in Room 10 at Target Road School. She trains very hard with her dog Tilly to be able to do some amazing tricks, and she gave us the honour of coming in to show us some of the tricks that Tilly has been working hard to learn.
We LOVED watching, and were able to use what we remembered as inspiration for some awesome writing!
Target Road School Market Day
This year Room 14 decided to make Lolly Bugs to sell at our Market Day stall. We spent a lot of time painting pegs for our butterflies, and making fiddly Lollipop Spiders using pipe-cleaners. These activities required a lot of concentration, and all the students did an amazing job!
We sold every single one of our Lolly Bugs, and used our maths skills to count the money. We made a total of $81.20 profit to spend in our classroom! We talked about ways to spend our profits, and you can see just a few of the suggestions below. Notable mentions include a Horse or cow for a class pet, or some Honey Comb for us to try as a class.
We practiced singing our Christmas Carol for the Market Day night. The students in Room 14 loved the song, and I'm sure many of you have heard it being practiced at home!
Target Roach School Beach Trip
As you will know, unfortunately our Beach Trip was cancelled for safety reasons, but we can't let that stop our fun! Mr Lydford worked hard to get a water slide set up for us to have a play on, and the students had an absolute blast!
Thank You!
Thank you all for your contributions, and for helping to make this an absolutely awesome year! Here's to finishing the term off with a BANG!
