Week 2 Fun
We have had a great second week of Term 1 and have managed to squeeze in so much learning and lots of fun too!
Work hard, play harder
We had a dolls house that we tried to put together. Unfortunately we had to return it but Miss Harris is working on getting a new one for Room 14. If you or anyone you know has a dolls house that they would like to gift, we would love to receive it!
We love playing in Room 14! We are learning to talk about what we are doing in our play.
We love playing with the dress up box.
Is this the right way up? Hello?
Ardrion is making some paper creations with the help of an Origami book.
Finding the Maths...
Ryan and Aria found maths in their playing! Aria used the new jovi crayons to practice her adding.
Ryan sorted the Dinosaurs, buses, trains and ships to find all of the yellow ones. He pretended that one of the yellow buses was the Magic School Bus and that it could transform into all sorts of different shapes!
Exploring new books
Last weekend Miss Harris spent three whole hours waiting in line to get us some really awesome books to read during class time! We absolutely loved exploring these books with our friends.
Fun in the Pool
We have had a great time in the pool playing safely and growing in confidence. We even got to share the pool with our friends in Room 13 on Monday!
It's a bit boring when we don't have our togs, but lucky for us Miss Harris lets us dangle our feet in the water.
Daily Maths
Toby did an awesome job being our "Teacher" for the first Daily Maths of the year. A lot of us are still building up the courage to put our hands up to answer the questions in Daily Maths.
Identity: Who am I?
Sarah and Hanna worked really hard to tell everyone a little bit more about themselves.
Davey: The Snail Who Wants to Learn
Read Davey's story here:
We worked hard to decorate Davey's shell with some of our favourite things that you need to do to be a good learner. Most of us wanted to take our Davey's home, but some of us wanted to display them on the wall. Make sure you ask to see your child's Davey the Snail!
Certificates
Congratulations to Ryan and Gian for getting this weeks certificates. They have done Miss Harris proud by showing all of the school values.
We're Melting!
We wrapped up the week with a bit of mindfulness. We imagined that we were frozen solid and then we slowly melted our bodies until we were a puddle of water on the floor.
Have a great weekend!
It has been a truly amazing week, and I look forward to another amazing week next week. A reminder that we have our Whanau evening on Valentines Day, next Wednesday. Please come along to meet me, have a sausage sizzle in the Barn and learn about upcoming events at Target Road School.

Thanks for all the info about the week and the photos Janelle. Thanks also for Davey the snail attachment, Isaac came home talking about him so great to see what he is all about :)
