Terry the Tiger
As promised, here are the pictures of Terry the Tiger and the mess he made in Miss Daisy's office! Students in Room 14 have made a great start in teaching him about our school values of respect, responsibility and resilience.
Terry wasted heaps of Miss Daisy's stickers!
Terry tried to hide in the flowers.
He filled up the sink and wasted lots of soap.
He put the teachers cups on his feet and spread them all over the bench.
He hid Miss Daisy's keys in a cupboard so she couldn't go home.
And he even took a nap with the Ring Words!
Liam Farrington has had an amazing week and so he got to take care of Terry all day at school. He did some writing in Terry's diary with the help of his buddies, Fiona and Dion, during buddy class, and got to take Terry to assembly to show Terry how to show respect by sitting nicely and listening.
Daily Maths
Kobe did a great job of being the teacher in Daily maths this week. He was resilient and tried really hard, even when other students forgot to show him respect by listening when he spoke.
Maths Game
This week we learnt a new maths game called 3, 6, 9. When we play this game we have to sit down with our legs straight and count upwards in ones but when we get to a number with a 3 in it, we have to clap instead of saying the number. When we get to the number 33 we have to clap twice. If we say the number instead of clapping, we cross our legs to show that we're out. Every time we have to start again we get to sing a cool song, too! Senior students make this game a bit trickier by adding in the numbers 6 and 9, but 3 is more than enough for us.
Library Time
This week we got to enjoy the library with Miss Harris. We were careful to use our library voices, and we used our browsing cards to show where we got our book from on the shelves so that we knew were to put the book back if we decided we didn't want to get it out.
Special thanks to our library monitors who join us on a Wednesday afternoon to issue the books for us! This week Emerson and Sal helped to issue our books.
Lower case or capital?
Letters can be tricky. Especially when we are doing our writing. Sometimes we forget to write lower case letters in the middle of words and we accidentally write a capital! We have been focusing a bit on lower case letters by cutting them out and turning them into other things. This week we turned an a into an apple, a b into a butterfly, and a c into a cat.
Sharing writing
This week Daniel worked hard to write a story about two dragons in his writing book. He worked on his story over a few days, and was eager to share it with the whole class.
Getting our hands dirty
Isaac absolutely loves gardening, so his parents have sent him to school with some seeds, a watering can, some seedlings, potting mix, gardening gloves, and trowels. Isaac has spent choosing time this week working on his garden. So far we have planted some broccoli seedlings and some silver-beet seeds. We have some carrot seedlings to plant as well.
Discovery Time
This week we were thrilled to have Mr G join us for discovery time! He spent time on the courts using chalk, and on the adventure playground. In Room 14 we had a blast learning some cool dance moves using some Youtube videos and Go Noodle. In Room 13 Mrs Mackay brought out her craft stamps and some cool colouring in sheets with Pokemon and Moana pictures on them, and in Room 12 Miss Raines set up some lego, the marble run, and some painting.
Once again, special thanks to Isaac for your amazing photography skills!
Buddy Class
This week Buddy Class helped us again with our Ring Words and our reading books before we headed out onto the courts for a game of Miss O's invention where you have to work together and link hands to get from one end of the court to the other. We had a blast!
